Kourtney McNichols

Kourtney began dancing at Betty Johnson’s School of Dance in Phoenix, Arizona, at age six. She continued her classical ballet training at Central Arizona Dance Company, directed by Lucy Couch, who encouraged her to use her talents for the Lord. Over the following ten years, she appeared in various classical ballets including Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and the lead in Cinderella. While still with Central Arizona Dance, Kourtney joined the Dance Center under the instruction of Laura Conway to further her modern and pointe technique. Both studios offered her teaching opportunities. In May of 2004 she moved to Springfield, Missouri, where she continued her training at Springfield Ballet. Throughout her two years there, she performed in several ballets including Coppelia. Kourtney attended Kansas City Ballet's Summer Intensive in 2005. At Urbana Mission Convention '07/Dance Conference she met the artistic director of Ad Deum Dance Company, Randall Flinn. He prayed and encouraged her to pursue the Lord through dance. Afterward Kourtney joined Petra Ballet Company and has danced as a Company Member since January 2008.
